COOPI in Venezuela

Since 2019, COOPI has established a presence in Venezuela to assist the local population following the worsening of the country’s socio-economic crisis. As of July 2020, it has launched a regional crisis response program that is implemented in consortium with Venezuelan organizations for the protection of vulnerable groups. In recent years, COOPI has expanded its interventions and is currently implementing projects with different donors in Caracas, Sucre, Delta Amacuro and Bolívar in protection (GBV, human trafficking and smuggling), sexual reproductive health, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) and school feeding.

Job Objective

The Human Resources Assistant will provide support in the implementation of HR processes, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, development, monitoring and staff administration. This role is key to ensuring compliance with human resources policies, employee well-being and strengthening the organizational team.

Responsibilities

Recruitment and Selection

  • Assist in the publication of vacancies on internal and external platforms.
  • Assist in reviewing CVs and preselecting candidates.
  • Support in interview and evaluation processes.
  • Conduct reference checks on selected candidates.

Onboarding and Training

  • Support the onboarding process for new employees, including initial induction and administrative procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of welcome and induction materials.
  • Follow up on employee training and development, keeping up-to-date records of training completed.

Personnel Administration

  • Update and maintain employee files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with internal policies.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of disciplinary and conflict resolution procedures.
  • Support in the administration of benefits and payroll.

Compliance and HR Policies

  • Ensure that human resources policies are aligned with current labor regulations.
  • Support the implementation of gender equity and non-discrimination policies.
  • Monitor employee attendance and absences, helping to implement time and attendance policies.

Wellbeing and Organizational Culture

  • Collaborate on initiatives to foster an inclusive and healthy work environment.
  • Facilitate integration and wellness activities for the team.
  • Conduct satisfaction and well-being surveys and present recommendations for improvement.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • University degree in Psychology, Business Administration, Human Resources or related fields.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Human Resources roles, preferably in the NGO or non-profit sector.
  • Experience in recruitment processes, personnel administration and compliance with labor policies.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Knowledge of labor laws and applicable regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail and handling confidentiality.
  • Mastery of office tools, such as Excel, Word and HR management systems.

Languages:

  • Fluent Spanish, basic English
