GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT INSO

Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organization (INSO) is an international non-profit non-governmental organization that supports humanitarian aid workers by establishing risk management coordination platforms in insecure contexts. INSO offers registered NGOs a range of free services , including real-time situation monitoring, analytical reports, data and mapping related to humanitarian security, crisis management support, guidance, and staff training.

INSO provides daily support to more than 1,200 NGOs in some twenty countries. INSO is headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands.

INSO COLOMBIA

INSO Colombia began operations in October 2024. The head office is located in Bogotá, with the goal of opening branches in various regions of the country in the coming months.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Training Officer will be responsible for supporting the development, organization, delivery, and evaluation of training courses for national and international NGOs to improve their organizational security, crisis management, personal risk mitigation, and humanitarian access. They will contribute to the assessment of training needs and the adaptation of courses to the context, facilitate training sessions, monitor and evaluate their effectiveness, and provide structured feedback to improve future training.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the assessment of training needs
  • Contribute to the adaptation of the Course
  • Organize training sessions
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate training sessions
  • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of training sessions and contribute to continuous improvement.

Mandatory requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the humanitarian, adult learning, or civil security sectors.
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Office (mainly Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in the Spanish language.
  • Well-developed organizational and networking skills.
  • A university degree in political science, international relations, law, education, communications, or another relevant academic program.
  • Demonstrated understanding of NGO safety and security management, personal security, humanitarian principles, practices, access and negotiations, or demonstrated understanding of curriculum design, learning principles

Preferred Features

  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience teaching courses focused on NGO security management, personal security, humanitarian access, and negotiations.
  • Experience in public speaking and facilitation.
  • First aid certifications.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Desired start date: June 2025.
  • Base monthly salary: 5,600,000 COP.
  • Contract: employment, fixed term.
  • 17 working days of annual vacation.
  • This is a full-time position, based in Bogotá, but includes frequent travel within Colombia.
