Description
We are seeking a Producer (f/m/d) for our DW Riga Studio in Latvia as of 1 August 2025 or as soon as possible on the basis of a local staff contract limited for two years.
THE ROLE
- research and preparation of news and magazine reports for TV, online programs and social media
- support of the correspondents with reports and live broadcasts
- analysis and preparation of reporting on current affairs (politics, business, society, culture and sport) in Russia, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia and Scandinavian countries for various DW editorial offices, programs and channels in English and Russian
- support of the Bureau Chief with other tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the studio
YOUR PROFILE
- university degree in a relevant field, completed editorial traineeship or a comparable journalistic qualification
- several years of relevant professional experience including experience as video journalist and a high affinity for social media
- experience as a correspondent with a focus on Russia and post-Soviet countries
- knowledge of Russian at native speaker level and very good knowledge of English required, additional knowledge of Latvian and German a plus
- excellent planning and organizational skills with a proactive and pragmatic approach
- ability to work in multicultural teams, respect for diversity
- willingness to travel within the above-mentioned regions and willingness to work under high time pressure and on weekends
