About the Role:

MERA is compiling a roster of highly skilled and experienced Data Analysts (Qualitative/Quantitative) to support humanitarian and research projects globally. Selected analysts will contribute to impactful projects by providing rigorous data analysis, actionable insights, and high-quality deliverables.

This is a remote consultancy, offering flexibility and opportunities to work on challenging assignments worldwide. Analysts will be engaged on a project basis depending on organizational needs and individual qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Data Analyst, your responsibilities may include:

  • Designing and implementing data collection tools and methodologies for qualitative and/or quantitative research.
  • Conducting thorough data analysis using statistical or qualitative software such as SPSS, Stata, R, NVivo, or Atlas.ti.
  • Cleaning, validating, and managing datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Preparing high-quality visualizations, dashboards, and data-driven reports.
  • Collaborating with project teams to interpret and contextualize findings.
  • Ensuring all data analysis adheres to ethical standards and confidentiality requirements.
  • Supporting capacity-building activities by training team members or partners in data analysis methods.

Requirements:

To be considered for inclusion in our roster, you should have:

  • A degree in statistics, data science, social sciences, or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in data analysis, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Expertise in using tools such as Excel, SPSS, Stata, R, Python, NVivo, or similar software.
  • Proven ability to analyze large and complex datasets, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of additional languages is an asset).
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in remote and multicultural team settings.

Compensation:

  • Daily Rate: USD 50 – 150 (if selected for a project) depending on qualifications and experience.
